Ekwan is the second most populous city in Taelmoor. Centuries ago, it was larger than the ancient city of Vale, but was significantly more peaceful. They built their own mighty walls mostly to keep Vale out after it began to conquer its neighbors, but otherwise Ekwan has kept to themselves. The city was once known as a great center of wealth and knowledge, thriving from its trade on the sea and its previous ownership of the rare materials found in the islands of Erkwan. And yet, Ekwan submitted to Vale's rule hundreds of years ago, knowing that they would be conquered if they didn't do so. Now a vassal state of Vale, it still runs mostly independently, aside from taxes and the need to sometimes muster troops or ships to help Vale.
