Just like the continent of Taelmoor, the Taelen Ocean was given its name by the elves that used to populate the continent. The area has always been overflowing with fish and sea life - both edible and horrifying. Ships that dare to stray too far west often find themselves attacked by the great leviathans that live there, which only seems to draw more explorers to the promise of the riches in sunken ships. Somehow, the elves figured out a way to safely sail past this dreaded sea to their lands to the west, but they refuse to share these secrets with humans.
