Rules and Updates

Taelmoor development did not stop with our first printing, and so there is some text in the original printed rules which is out of date or misleading. In addition, a handful of features mentioned in the rulebook are not yet ready for the public. Below is a complete list of any rules text which has changed or needs clarification. Anything listed as "Coming Soon" is not currently available, but will be added to a later version of the app.

"Create Hotseat Game" is now simply "Hotseat"
In addition to the eight narrative scenarios, Taelmoor also launched with two combat focused scenarios

Clarification: Devices receive some messages before "Start" is pushed
In a previous version of the game, a character's backstory and special skills were combined into a single message. We found this was not a great experience for players, and they often missed important skills. In the final app, special skills are in their own separate message and visible to the whole party. Backstories are now purely for flavor.

There is no longer one Act button at the bottom of the screen, instead each character you control has their own Act button beneath them
Characters often level up after winning combat, but that is not always the case

Once again, characters usually level up after combat, but that is not true in every scenario or every combat

Clarification: For the targets Most Health, Least Health, and Most Damage, ties are broken at random

Target Status was rarely used by players and cluttered the interface. It has been removed.
The other information shown in the example UI is present in the final app and shown the correct location, but has been redesigned and superficially looks very different than what is printed in the rulebook.

Clarification: Confused cannot affect which side a character targets. They will still target an enemy or ally as normal, but a random enemy or ally.
Guardian proved too powerful for the basic Rogue ability Evade. Rather than completely prevent attacks that would kill a character, Guardian now prevents damage from exceeding the character's health. A character cannot drop below 1 health while Guardian is active.

Combat Cards

Holy Guardian (Cleric): Rather than preventing death blows entirely, this card instead prevents the health of you and your allies from dropping below 1.
Glamour (Elf): The affected enemy does not choose its targets randomly and does not need to be using an attack. Instead, their normal targets are reversed. They will attack their own allies and use helpful abilities on your party.
Evade (Rogue): Like Holy Guardian, simply prevents the Rogue's health from dropping below 1 rather than preventing death blows entirely.
Manicap Toxin (Rogue, Booster Pack): Like Glamour, the affected enemy will reverse their normal targets. They will attack their own allies and use helpful abilities on your party.
